Updated: Apr 12, 2023

You might be thinking:

Who cares anyway! What does Web3 have to do with me?

It doesn't change anything for me.

But actually, it changes everything!

What if I told you that the next Amazon, Google, Facebook, and TikTok could be yours? And what if I told you that unlike Elon Musk, who paid $44 billion for Twitter governance, you wouldn't have to spend a dime? Too good to be true? Let me explain why it's possible, and as of today!

Have you ever wondered what Web3 could offer you?

Let me tell you about the evolution of the Web, from its humble beginnings to its transformation into a platform owned, modifiable, and controllable by you, the user.

Discover what Web3 has in store for you, because Web3 belongs to users like you.

In summary, Web1 was similar to a library where you consulted books: Someone wrote a book, another person published it, and a customer consulted it.

  • Yahoo: One of the first search engines and web directories that allowed finding websites but without the possibility of interaction.

  • Online Encyclopedia: The first online encyclopedias were essentially digital versions of paper encyclopedias, without the possibility of modification or user contribution.

  • Personal Blogs: The first blogs were personal websites where people shared their thoughts and experiences, but readers couldn't interact or comment.

For Web2, it is more of an interactive bulletin board where people can post their own notes, photos, and videos, and react to other people's posts.

Here, the platform hosting the bulletin board takes a large part of the profits, say 80%, while content creators share the remaining 20%.

Oh! And the bulletin board guy gets pay to spy on you.

  • Amazon: The online retail giant has simplified buying with a few clicks, allowing users to compare products and read reviews from other customers.

  • Facebook: This social platform has revolutionized how we interact with friends and family, share memories, and discover new things.

  • YouTube: YouTube has given everyone the ability to create and share videos, allowing thousands of content creators to become known and make money from their creations.

Now lets imagine a Web3 version of these popular platforms:

  • Amazon Web3: As a user, you could vote and propose improvements for the platform, and even be rewarded for your contributions.

  • Facebook Web3: You would have total control over your data and could monetize your content while having the opportunity to participate in platform governance.

  • YouTube Web3: Creators and users could manage the platform together, proposing improvements and sharing generated revenues.

The best part? You could buy Tokens and keep them to support these platforms and receive a share of the generated profits in the form of dividends.

Web3 is the same bulletin board, but it belongs to the users and profits are distributed based on the value they bring.

You can choose how to participate.

Want to plant flowers to decorate the board? You receive tokens.

Want to create artwork to attract visitors to the board? You receive tokens.

Think we should expand the board and submit an expansion project that's accepted by users? You receive tokens.

Want to simply contribute and share profits? You receive tokens!

The possibilities are endless.

In summary, Web3 opens up a world of possibilities for you by offering more control, participation, and rewards.

But how can we make this vision of a fairer and decentralized Internet a reality?

What's the key to giving you the power to shape the future of your favorite platforms?

The answer lies in DAOs (Decentralized Autonomous Organizations).

Stay tuned for my next article, where I'll reveal how DAOs are transforming the Web3 landscape and making it possible for users like you to become emancipated. You won't want to miss this ongoing digital revolution!
